HISTORICAL EXPERIENCE: FROM UNDERSTANDING OF ESSENCE TO DEFINITION OF TERM

Abstract. By analyzing foreign and domestic authors' scientific works on the questions of historical experience, the author of the article generalizes historians and philosophers' ideas about the essence of historical experience, its origins and functions, about the possibility of its use for predicting the future, pays special attention to the question about a researcher's role in the study and representation of historical experience, about the correlation of objective and subjective in this experience, gives the authorial definition of historical experience, and basing on it comes to the conclusion about the sphere of this experience implementation in the present and in the future.
