PROBLEM OF HUMANISM IN D. I. PISAREV'S SOCIAL PHILOSOPHY

Abstract. The author considers the social-philosophical understanding of humanism in the creative works of the famous Russian thinker of the XIXth century D. I. Pisarev, shows that the idea of humanism, according to the thinker, is closely connected with dynamic labour activity, the high level of citizens' education and the necessity to achieve progressive scientific results, and basing on the analysis of the philosopher's massive legacy mentions the paradoxicality of his judgments that the integral trait of a humane person's character is selfish needs and desire of self-perfection.
