Abstract. The author presents the cross-regional comparative analysis of the composition, structure and functioning features of the regional parliaments in the Republic of Tuva and Khakassia, in the course of the research singles out the general characteristics of regional assemblies and their features, and pays special attention to the factors that influenced the role of regional parliament as an actor of the transformation process in the region.
