Abstract. The author discusses A. S. Pushkin's works enacted on national ballet stage, considers the retrospective of the most famous ballet stagings based on A. S. Pushkin's works, beginning with the ballets, which were shown during the writer's lifetime, and ending with new experiments on modern stage, enumerates the ballets staged by the first wave immigrants (1917-1939), and concludes that the themes, plots and images of the great writer's works are the most widely used material introduced to ballet stage from literature.
