RELIGIOUS STUDIES AND SOCIOLOGY CONNECTION IN P. L. LAVROV'S PHILOSOPHY

Abstract. The author presents the Russian philosopher P. L. Lavrov's views on religion, analyzes the development of his ideas about religion influence on social life, and considers Lavrov's explanation of the differences between Christian and non-religious moral ideals and his study of the conceptions religious socialism and non-resistance to evil, popular in the last third of the XIXth century in the West and in Russia.
