Abstract. The author presents the detailed analysis of mathematics epistemological and methodological role in scientific-research activity, pays special attention to the historical-philosophical understanding of mathematics as the universal pattern of rational cognition, and in conclusion reveals the metaphysical essence of mathematics: mathematics serves as a free thinking model and explorative mind paradigm.
