Abstract. The author considers the problem of Shekhon river region voivodes' activity in relation to regional Old Believers at the end of the XVIIth century, pays special attention to the questions of the organization and implementation features of the region investigative measures against ancient piety devotees, the nature and directedness of local administration heads' participation in those measures.
