Abstract. The author reveals the content of the notion scientific art, which is becoming more and more widespread in aesthetics and art criticism for trans-disciplinary field designation, within which discursive thinking and intuitive judgments synthesis is implemented; mentions that numerous attempts are undertaken to adapt the methods of natural and exact sciences for the creation of science-based art, and the methods of art - for the creation of new scientific theories, and pays special attention to the critical analysis of alternative notions, including the terms pseudo-scientific art, science-art, art of researches and science art.
