GRAND FLEET IN GREAT BRITAIN IN THE LAST THIRD OF THE XIXTH CENTURY: THEORETICAL FOUNDATIONS OF STRATEGY TRANSFORMATION

Abstract. The author presents the brief analysis of the theoretical conceptions of the Royal Navy (Grand Fleet) strategy transformation in the British Empire in the last third of the XIXth century, analyzes the publications of H. W. Wilson, F. Colomb, H. Kennedy and T. A. Brassey on the problem of the British Navy offensive strategy in the coming war and supposes that British politicians and experts created the Royal Navy activity effective theory according to the British Empire strategic interests.
