IJTIHAD AS ISLAMIC LAW INSTITUTION

Abstract. The author reveals the content of the notion ijtihad and this institution development since Prophet Muhammad and emphasizes the possibility to consider the notion ijtihad from three different angles: as Islamic law source; as Islamic law development - Sharia law interpretation process and other sources of law origin basis and as academic lawyer's authority.
