Abstract. The author analyzes alienation extensional theory in F. M. Dostoevskii's works, considers not only the Marxist phenomenon of interpersonal alienation expressed in The House of the Dead but also the existential phenomenon of alienation which the Russian writer reflected in Notes from Underground.
