CONTRADICTIONS OF INNOVATIVE DEVELOPMENT IN THE REPUBLIC OF TATARSTAN

Abstract. The authors analyze the actions of the regional authorities in the Republic of Tatarstan in the 2000s aimed at transforming the republic into an innovative region as well as media and experts' evaluation of these actions and conclude that innovative development of the region is often substituted by an imitation.
