Abstract. The author reveals the originality of V. Rozanov's understanding of power problem and its historical background: in his works power mythologization takes place and tsar becomes the basic mythologeme. In Rozanov's myth tsar's power is God-given and tsar is the metaphysical basis of Russian life. Along with his abdication the country unity goes to ruin and rupture with Eternity takes place. V. Rozanov opposes monarchy to republic which, according to his version, became the outcome of pagan antiquity while tsar's personality was formed in Christian values.
