Abstract. The author covers the structure, functions and basic directions of activity of People's Commissariat for Agriculture of Chuvash Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic under the conditions of new economic policy and considers the qualitative and quantitative changes which took place in Chuvash agriculture and forestry under the direction of this authority.
