FROM INFORMATION TO KNOWLEDGE SOCIETY: REALITY OR DISTANT FUTURE?

Abstract. The author considers the information society realization degree in the modern world and the possible time-frame of the transition to knowledge society and comes to the conclusion that in perspective knowledge society will present the higher stage of the information society which is not yet formed that will lead to the minimization of information society apparent shortages.
