EXPERIENCE NOTION IN RUSSIAN AND WESTERN-EUROPEAN TRADITIONS

Abstract. The author reveals the content of the notion experience in the Russian language, analyzes the similarities and differences with the European context and shows that in the scientific term experience two meanings are combined: experience as principle (experientia) and experience as visualization (experimentum) that proves the basic role of empirical method in the Russian scientific practice.
