Abstract. The author reveals the role of the defense committees of the cities of Upper Volga region in the solution of the problems of local anti-aircraft defense on the preparation of population, objects of industry and inhabited sector for the protection against air attacks of German-fascist aviation during Great Patriotic War by the materials of Yaroslavl' region.
