Abstract. The author doubts the point of view established in modern historiography according to which Izhevsk anti-Bolshevist revolt which began on the 8th of August 1918 was defeated after the fierce battles on the 7th of November of the same year. The culmination of these battles supposedly was the psychological attack of Izhevsk rebels and after repelling this attack red forces took Izhevsk by storm. The author considers the problems of dating Izhevsk workers' revolt defeat and the character of the last battles and also proves that the telegram about taking Izhevsk by storm sent to V. I. Lenin on the 7th of November was at least premature.
