Abstract. The author analyzes the theoretical bases of such phenomenon as universal history, defines the borders and semantic filling of the corresponding concept under the modern conditions of its frequent and polysemantic use and considers the complex of factors and preconditions defining the scenarios of the transformation of universal-historical perspective today.
