DEFENSIVE BUILDING WITHIN SOCHI TERRITORY DURING THE MEDIEVAL PERIOD: GENERAL AND SPECIAL FEATURES

Abstract. The author considers medieval defensive architecture within modern Sochi territory, pays special attention to the characteristic features of fortresses building and also additional fortification constructions and summarizes that probably within the territory of modern Sochi there passed the North-Eastern border of the Byzantian Empire.
