LAW, RELIGION AND IDENTITY AS THE FACTORS OF ROYAL PREROGATIVE RESTRICTION IN ENGLAND OF THE XVIITH CENTURY

Abstract. The article is devoted to considering legal and religious ideas as the important factors of English identity formation and the English crown prerogatives restriction in the XVIIth century. The author analyzes the Stewarts' image in public opinion of the epoch and known public figures' views on the royal prerogative. Special attention is paid to Puritans' views (as the representatives of one of the most impressive and influential Protestant trends) on history, law, labor and public management.
