Abstract. The author reveals the content of the notion musical simulacrum and its meaning in post-modernism culture by the example of avant-garde musical works of the second half of the ХХth - the beginning of the ХХIst centuries. Special attention is paid to the semiotic structure of an elementary unit of a musical work and its transformation in a musical simulacrum.
