Abstract. In the article the origin and development of education philosophy as an independent science are traced, the questions of relations between education philosophy and general philosophy, interaction of philosophy and education and the integrity of this science are tackled. The author gives the opinions of scientists about the content and tasks of education philosophy and education itself. The brief analysis of modern education and its role in informational society is given in the article.
