ZEMSTVO BOARD CHAIRMEN OF TAMBOV PROVINCE (1866-1892)

Abstract. Province Zemstvo board chairman was responsible for all current Zemstvo affairs within the province and while the breaks between the sessions of provincial Zemstvo meetings according to "Regulations Concerning Provincial and District Zemstvo Establishments". Thus, the chairman had significant power in local self-government. From this point of view it seems interesting to get acquainted with the persons who occupied that post. The article is devoted to them.
