Abstract. The aim of the research is to identify Donna Tartt’s graphic and compositional decisions for integrating texts of different genres in her narrative. Furthermore, the article analyzes the potential of graphic elements in implementing the category of emotivity in D. Tartt’s novel “The Goldfinch”. The study examines mechanisms for providing visual cues that can serve to express emotivity and genre intertextuality, types of graphic elements and graphons, themes and types of texts demonstrating genre intertextuality in Tartt’s “The Goldfinch”, as well as the phenomenon of the author’s visual consciousness. The scientific novelty lies in discovering and describing new ways of conveying emotions and incorporating new genres through graphic and compositional means in the English-language novel “The Goldfinch” by D. Tartt. As a result, it was found that the author’s strategies in the use of graphic and compositional elements not only provide a more realistic and visually interactive narrative for the reader but also help further convey the emotions of the characters, highlight ideas, provide a key to understanding the meaning of the work and the author’s intentions.
