The concept of the informative code of linguocognitive connectors in the discourse model

Abstract. The aim of the research is to identify the socially marked specificity of the informative code of linguocognitive connectors in the model of W. Churchill’s discourse through the application of the author’s interpretative concept of the study of the three-module discourse model. The scientific novelty of the research is determined by the fact that: 1) it is the first time that the concept of the interpretation of the informative code of linguocognitive connectors in the discourse model has been proposed; 2) the mental and linguistic levels of the three-module model of discourse have been determined; 3) the components of the informative code of linguocognitive connectors in W. Churchill’s speech “Blood, Toil, Tears and Sweat” given on May 13, 1940 have been identified; 4) the socially marked specificity of constructing the informative code of linguocognitive connectors in the model of the studied political discourse has been determined; 5) the terms “the informative code of linguocognitive connectors”, “the social markedness of nominants” have been introduced into scientific thesaurus. As a result, it has been shown that the socially marked nominants of the informative code of linguocultural connectors in the model of W. Churchill’s speech “Blood, Toil, Tears and Sweat” are represented by cognitive-discursive attractors. The development and implementation of a new approach to the interpretation of political discourse, presented in the form of a three-module cognitive model, have contributed to the theoretical and methodological base of modern discourse studies.
