Lexical Means of Expressing the Category of Space in the Ingush Language

Abstract. The aim of the study is to describe the lexical means of expressing spatial relations in the modern Ingush language. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the fact that for the first time by the material of the Ingush language the main means of representing spatial semantics are studied, their specific features are determined. As a result, lexical means expressing spatial relations in the modern Ingush language have been identified and systematized. It is proved that in the studied language the main means of representing the semantics of space are verbs, postpositions, adverbs and adjectives. It is shown that postpositions in the Ingush language play an important role in the conceptualization of space. Spatial verbs widely represented in the Ingush language denoting the location of an object and its movement have been identified. It is noted that the verbs in the Ingush language peculiarly structure the functional-semantic field of spatiality. The place of adverbs and adjectives in the spatial worldview of the Ingush language is determined.
