Abstract. The aim of the research is to substantiate the concept of dictionary representation of Russian proverbs, taking into account the dynamic processes occurring in the paremiological sphere and reflected in the transformations of linguistic units in this sphere and in neoparemiological units that arise without relying on traditional proverbs. The study utilises modern methods of linguistic analysis and lexicographic construction. The scientific novelty of the research lies in creating a model for a comprehensive dictionary description of canonical proverbs, their transformations and neoparemiological units. The innovative lexicographic concept involves combining the thematic-axiological and the alphabetical-headword principles for systematising the material. It is the first time that the potential of functionally-semantic dictionary parametrisation of individually-authored transformations of proverbs and new proverbs is realised. As a result, it has been proved that the proposed techniques of macro- and micro-structuring of a dictionary will make it possible to present the peculiarities of functioning of Russian proverbs in the modern sociocultural context, to demonstrate emerging trends in the reinterpretation of the axiological content of traditional proverbs, as well as the goals and the linguistic-creative potential of people coining new proverbs.
