Visual Perception Verbs in the Tatar Language (Semantic and Word-Formation Aspect)

Abstract. The article deals with the visual perception verbs of the Tatar language, which have a number of features both in semantic and structural aspects. The aim of the study is to identify the semantic and word-formation specifics of visual perception verbs functioning in a fiction text. The scientific novelty is due to the fact that for the first time in the Tatar linguistics, a detailed classification of these verbs is given with a definition of their word-formation capabilities. The results obtained have shown that these verbs within the two thematic groups have a rather high word-formation potential. The most frequent word-formation methods are conversion and various types of compounding.
