Nikolai Brusilov’s "My Journey, or One-Day Adventures": Tradition and Parody in "Mass Sentimentalism" Prose

Abstract. The article considers the peculiarities of using the elements of the sentimentalism aesthetic system in the text of the "mass sentimentalism" representative N. P. Brusilov’s "My Journey, or One-Day Adventures". The paper aims to identify the algorithm of using the elements of the sentimentalism aesthetic system. The scientific originality of the research lies in the fact that it reveals specific procedures of work with the tradition of sentimentalism in "My Journey…". As a result, the author has concluded that the writer rethinks the following elements of the aesthetic system: paratextual (epigraph, preface), genre (synthesis of different forms, compositional structure, chronotope), content (opposition "feeling - logic", implementation of philosophical reflection).
