Transformation of Functions of the Phrase "таким образом" ("thus") in the Linguocreative Space of the Internet

Abstract. The study aims to describe the transformation of functions of the phase "таким образом" ("thus") in Internet communication in the aspect of linguocreativity. The paper considers Internet memes with the phrase "таким образом" in which atypical punctuation and variation of the expression plane of the phrase occur in order to use it in atypical functions. The study is novel in that it is the first to describe the linguocreative transformations of the phase "таким образом" in Internet memes. As a result, it has been proved that the linguocreative transformations of this phrase are related to intertextuality and are realised due to the creator’s awareness of the functional specificity of the phase "таким образом", the change in its expression plane and the use of creolising elements.
