Modus Meanings in Linguistic Image of Woman-Politician: Temporality Actualization Aspect

Abstract. The paper aims to describe the modus component of the linguistic image of a woman-politician in terms of temporal preferences based on the semantic analysis carried out according to the model suggested by T. V. Shmeleva, as well as on the basis of the "diagnostic spot" principle. The scientific originality of the research lies in the fact that it applies the semantic approach (from the point of view of modus meanings) to the image of a woman-politician. As a result, the modus frame of N. Poklonskaya’s public speeches has been reconstructed and one of the most socially significant markers - temporal actualization of a political event as a part of the speaker’s image - has been revealed.
