Interaction between Quantity Syntaxemes and Verbal Predicates: Quantitative Meanings and Types of Syntactic Relations of Words

Abstract. The paper aims to relate the functional typology of syntaxemes, semantic-syntactic classification of Russian verbs and types of syntactic relations within a structure with quantitative meaning. The article describes the category of quantity as a result of interaction between quantitative substantive syntaxemes and verbs of different semantic groups. The scientific originality of the research lies in the fact that the article considers equally the input of nominal and verbal components into the semantics of a structure in contrast to the verbocentric approach which prevails at the modern stage of linguistics development. As a result, the types of syntactic relations typical for quantitative predicative structures, as well as the dependence of meaning of a substantive syntaxeme and verbal lexeme on this structure have been identified.
