Abstract. The study aims to identify typical addressing signals for English-language and Russian-language texts of children’s detective fiction on the basis of a comparison by means of decoding stylistics. The paper carries out a comparative analysis of addressing signals presented at different levels of text organisation, whose features are attributable to children’s literature in general and the detective genre in particular. Scientific novelty is determined by the material obtained during a classification of linguistic means of addressing in the genre of children’s detective fiction, which have not been elaborated before. As a result of the study, the most common examples of linguistic addressing signals in Russian-language and English-language children’s detectives have been identified.
