Expressive Concretization as Translation Technique to Transfer Author’s Style and Intention (by the Example of Ozzy Osbourne’s Autobiography "I Am Ozzy")

Abstract. The paper aims to reveal specificity of transferring Osbourne’s style while translating his autobiographical work "I Am Ozzy". Scientific originality of the study lies in the fact that the researcher for the first time analyses the Russian translation of the scandalous musician’s autobiography paying special attention to the problem of transferring the author’s individual style and intention. The following conclusions are justified: to preserve integrity of the original text, the translator should take into account specificity of a reader’s perception, focus on transferring expressiveness and emotiveness of the author’s language. It is relevant for autobiographical works where a translator faces the task to express the author’s individual style and personality by means of the target language.
