Strategies and Tactics of Touristic Website Translation: Communicative-Functional Approach (by the Material of the Russian and English Languages)

Abstract. The paper aims to identify the translation strategies and tactics used to translate texts in the tourist industry, in particular, English and Russian touristic websites. The scientific originality of the research consists in the complex analysis of different translation strategies: communicatively equal, tertiary and redirection strategy, as well as translation tactics which aim to realize these strategies in terms of communicative-functional approach. As a result, it has been proved that the strategy of communicatively equal translation is most frequently used to translate texts in tourism industry, while in some cases the strategy of tertiary translation is also used.
