Interlingual Lacunarity in Simultaneous Translation within the Framework of a Language for Special Purposes (Based on the Material of English and Russian Languages)

Abstract. The aim of this study is to establish the ways to convey the invariant of meaning during the elimination of interlanguage gaps in simultaneous translation in the context of a language for special purposes using the example of materials of simultaneous translation messages from the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The scientific originality of our research lies in the fact that for the first time the methods of eliminating interlanguage lacunarity were considered in the process of simultaneous translation carried out within the framework of a language for special purposes; the characteristic features of the economic discourse of a language for special purposes are revealed and the methods of delacunization used by simultaneous translators are analysed. The results of this study are the identified ways of overcoming interlingual lacunarity by translators during the simultaneous translation of a language for special purposes.
