"Russian Journey" by J. B. Priestley: Imagological Aspect

Abstract. The paper aims to reveal the specificity of Russia’s image representation in J. B. Priestley’s publicistic works. The article examines the cycle of essays "Russian Journey" from the viewpoint of representation of Russian-British relations and interactions. Scientific originality of the study involves the imagological approach to analyzing J. B. Priestley’s cycle "Russian Journey". The findings allow concluding that in this cycle Russian people are described as true winners whose contribution cannot be overestimated. The bearers of great culture, Russians continue to develop, seek to acquire new knowledge. Writer’s opinion is as follows: to develop Russian-British relations, Englishmen should abandon stereotypes, should respect Russians considering them equable partners.
