Individualisation of Sociocultural Knowledge and Skills of Bachelors in Natural Sciences through Reading and Translating English Fiction

Abstract. The study aims to justify advantages of incorporating tasks in reading and translating fiction written by the English-language authors, including autobiographical writings, into independent work in foreign language learning of future Bachelors in Natural Sciences. Scientific originality includes methodological techniques of working with fiction texts. The research has confirmed that this type of activity allows students to broaden their knowledge and develop skills forming a basis of teaching communication in the sociocultural aspect. As a result, the most common errors made by the students in the field of conveying the linguocultural component of an English-language text are identified.
