Artistic Explication of the Concept FAMILY in the English Literary Tales

Abstract. The paper provides an associative analysis of authorial linguistic means realizing the artistic concept FAMILY by the material of the literary tales "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" by C. S. Lewis and "James and the Giant Peach" by R. Dahl. Scientific originality of the study lies in the fact that the researchers consider individual-authorial interpretation of the concept FAMILY. The findings indicate that the concept FAMILY contains universal cultural meanings associated with universal human values. Fairy-tale worldview where animals possess human-like qualities represents individual-authorial understanding of the family as continuum integrating conceptual spheres "Human Being", "Society", "Nature".
