The Bashkir Literature of the XX Century: Development Milestones of Poetry, Prose and Drama

Abstract. The research aims to review development of the Bashkir literature of the XX century. The article provides an insight into the process of creating united literary space starting from the 1920s, step-by-step outlines genre, idea-thematic, composition and worldview concepts, which undergo certain changes. Transformation of the national literature is connected, first and foremost, to changes at the level of ideology, increase in governmental control over cultural space. The study is novel in that it attempts to demonstrate that development of the Bashkir literature of the XX century is of heterogeneous nature on account of spiritual needs of the Soviet society and the authorities in a particular time period, for instance, needs relating to an artistic image, genre, themes and problems. As a result of the research, it has been shown how the function of the written word in the society, poetics, content of works of fiction, genre dominance, etc. change.
