Specificity of Forming Non-Linguistic Students’ Foreign-Language Research Competence

Abstract. The paper tackles methodological issues concerning specificity of forming non-linguistic students’ foreign-language research competence. The article differentiates the notions "competency" and "competence", presents structure of research competency, which, in the author’s opinion, includes foreign-language research competence required for scientific communication. Non-linguistic students’ foreign-language research competence largely manifests itself when preparing a report or an article. Scientific originality of the study involves developing a clear algorithm to form students’ foreign-language research competence.
