The German-Slavonic Parallels within the Semantic Field "Livestock" in the German Lexicographic Sources

Abstract. The paper aims to reveal the lexico-semantic, phonetic and word-formative basis of nomination of the German-Slavonic parallels within the semantic field "Livestock". The author focuses on identifying the origin and bases of the lexemes under study taking into account phonetic transitions and morphological structural correlations. The research material was obtained from the German etymological dictionaries. Scientific originality of the paper lies in the fact that the means for differentiating the German-Slavonic parallels within the semantic field "Livestock" are considered in the morphological, phonetic, semantic aspects. The conducted research allows identifying common and peculiar linguistic characteristics of the German-Slavonic parallels under study.
