In Search of the Essential: Stories of the Writer and Journalist S. N. Makarova-Gritsenko in the Context of the Modern Russian Literature

Abstract. The paper aims to reveal specificity of individual style of the talented modern writer and journalist S. N. Makarova-Gritsenko. The research material includes stories from the newly published collection "Navigator". The researcher examines the basic themes, characterizes the personages and describes the original techniques used by the small prose writer. Scientific originality of the study involves analysing the "Navigator" cycle in the context of the modern Russian literature from the viewpoint of the writer’s philosophy and text linguistics. The research findings are as follows: the key problems of the writer’s stories are identified, components of the main and secondary personages’ images are described and peculiarities of the Krasnodar author’s individual style are revealed.
