Semantic Processes in the English Terminological System of Transport Logistics

Abstract. The article examines the main semantic processes taking place in the English terminological system of transport logistics. The research aims to define the notion of a term, identify the functions and requirements it has to meet, review the main scientific viewpoints on the behaviour of semantic processes in terminologies, discover the grounds on which the functioning of synonymous terms and homonymous terms is possible. It was found that the terminological system of transport logistics is characterized by the semantic processes accounted for by extra-linguistic factors.
