Basic Trends of the Turkish Immigration Literature in Germany

Abstract. The article for the first time analyses the German-Turkish literature, which constitutes scientific originality of the study. The research objectives are as follows: to identify tendencies in the German-Turkish literature, to reveal thematic peculiarities of the writers-immigrants’ works, to analyse specificity of expressing their national identity and to determine the place of the German-Turkish literature in the German literary space. It is shown that the German-Turkish literature plays an essential role in integration and self-expression of the Turkish diaspora in Germany. The research findings broaden the existing conception of the modern German literature.
