Anthropological Problematic in V. M. Shukshin’s and F. M. Dostoevsky’s Creative Work (by the Example of "The Red Snowball Tree" and "Crime and Punishment")

Abstract. The research objectives are as follows: to reveal literary links between "The Red Snowball Tree" by V. M. Shukshin and "Crime and Punishment" by F. M. Dostoevsky, to discuss the writers’ interest in the anthropological problem, correlation of a man’s inner and outer worlds. Scientific originality of the study lies in the fact that the personages’ images are for the first time analysed through the lens of the literary tradition continuity in two literary works - "The Red Snowball Tree" by V. M. Shukshin and "Crime and Punishment" by F. M. Dostoevsky. The research findings are as follows: the author proves that the anthropological problem, considered in broad philosophical context, is represented in a similar way in the writers’ creative work.
