Schoolgirl’s Self-Identification in L. A. Budogoskaya’s Prose of the 1930-1940s

Abstract. The study aims to determine specificity of the prose by the little-studied writer of the XX century L. A. Budogoskaya. The article considers the author’s key works dedicated to the subject of "school": "The Tale of the Red-Haired Girl", "Getting to Know One Another", "The Pre-schoolers". The primary focus of the research is interaction among children of different ages and social statuses, degree of external factors impact on change in a teenager’s worldview, a teacher’s role in primary and secondary school students’ life. Scientific novelty of the work lies in approaching L. A. Budogoskaya’s prose writings with regard to the originality of problems. As a result, the challenges faced by a school-going character in the course of integration into society have been analysed.
