Sociological Approach in Studying History of the Tatar Literary Language: Systematic Review

Abstract. The study is a systematic review of scientific works on history of the Tatar literary language. The work aims to determine the degree of development reached by principles and methods of the sociological approach as applied to the specified subsystem of the Tatar language. The research is novel in that it analyses works that have been previously analysed only from the linguistic perspective. The way they reflect social aspects of the Tatar language development has escaped attention. As a result, it was found that the sociological approach is represented in the Tatar scientists’ works only partially, and the existing insights have lost their relevance.
