STOCK EXCHANGE ONOMASTICS AS A SOURCE FOR REPLENISHING THE ENGLISH PROFESSIONAL VOCABULARY

Abstract. The article focuses on stock exchange onomastics in English and its role in professional vocabulary formation. This problem is poorly studied and requires detailed consideration. The authors identify and describe the main groups of the English onyms of stock exchange activity. The most productive methods and models of their formation are analysed. The linguistic features of the studied vocabulary and their extralinguistic conditionality are ascertained. For the first time the notion "stock exchange indexonym" is introduced. The work has an interdisciplinary character, it is written at the intersection of linguistics and stock market.
